Begun by the von Strex family of Norway in 2031 they have been at the forefront of manufacturing and distribution for generations. They produce everything from decent textiles to mediocre spaceships in appalling quantities. Though they make up the lion’s share of the economic transactions of every day it is not the most profitable company out there. A vast majority of their labor force is 0-hour subcontractors, renewed on a day-by-day basis. Their image is one of underwhelming ubiquity.
At any given time their payrolls include up to 11 percent of the total population on Earth, but their wage costs are next to nothing per capita. As a company they have not benefited overly much from the resource race, growing most of their materials in Engevo labs all over the planet. This has not limited their constant profits though, as everyone shops in a Strex! at some point in their daily life.
One of the few majority private-owned companies its shares have never been the most valuable, but their last posted quarter of loss was over a decade ago.
